Cedar shakes and shingles are more aesthetically pleasing and typically have a longer life than a basic asphalt shingle. Cedar roofs have exceptional thermal insulation properties which can help lower heating costs. There is more difficulty in installing a cedar roof in comparison to an asphalt shingle roof. We follow the guidelines from the “Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau Roof Manual” which is the highest standard for cedar installation guidelines.

Slate tiles are available in several colours and sizes. A properly installed slate roof can be the most aesthetically pleasing and longest lasting option for your roof. All of our slate installations and slate repairs are completed according to “The Slate Roof Bible” by Joseph Jenkins. We purchase our slate tiles from North Country Slate in Toronto.
Synthetic Slate has been gaining tons of popularity over the last few years. We have lots of experience in installing many different brands of synthetic slate from Eco-Star, Inspire Slate, Da Vinci Single and Multi Width Tiles. We have also installed many Synthetic Shake Tiles which mimics the look of a cedar roof. These synthetic products look gorgeous and also last a lot longer than a typical asphalt shingle roof.
To install skylights properly you must complete the necessary framing/rough carpentry before you install the skylight. The framing/rough carpentry must be completed according to building code. Once you cut one or more roof rafters for the skylight tunnel you must make sure you follow procedures to keep the roof framing to building code.
